almost losing my laptop

so, basically, i'm tired and sick of scammers. i almost lost my laptop to a spoofed email. silly me! Basically, this is the story. I bought a laptop for like 450 bucks awhile ago because i decided i wanted one for college. simple enough. then, i qualified to buy one of the company store laptops from amazon. these are 50 dollar laptops that the company wants to liquidate because developers used them but can't anymore. So, I got my 50 dollar laptop. It's nice. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it didn't have wireless. My mom is going to give me a wireless card. So, that should work out after I get the wireless card. :)

However, this left me with two laptops. I decided to liquidate the more expensive of the two to see how much money I could get back for it. I posted it on craigslist for 575. I had this person named Olivia White respond and say she wanted to buy it. She would pay me over paypal. I got an email from her saying that she had put the money in the paypal, but it wouldn't show up until i put in the tracking number because it was an international order. I didn't believe her at first because there was no paypal documentation that I could find about this specific scenario. I told her no. Then, that night I found an email from service@paypal.com explaining that at midnight the day before, she had sent a money payment through and that it wouldn't show up until I put in the tracking number. So, I emailed her and told her that I had reconsidered. I sent off the laptop, and that night, I sent an email to paypal and asked if this was legit. They mailed me back and said that it was a scam. I went to the post office at like 2 that morning to see if i could catch them before sending the shipments off. Nobody was at the post office. So, I came back at liek 6 or 7 in the morning. the person told me to wait until 8, come back at 8 and ask for a recall on the package. So, I did exactly that. The people at the post office said that my package was in new york and it was going to go over to the uk. i was lucky i'd asked for the recall when i did because it was going to go over there. long story short, i got it back. Olivia tried to tell me that she was legit and that the money was coming. I told her that she was a scammer and forwarded the email I received from paypal to her. She never responded.
